OUR GUEST, ANASTASIA EZHOVA (@CURLINGTHEWORLD), BEAUTY DIRECTOR OF GRAZIA AND TRAVEL MAGAZINE BLOGGER WILL TELL WHICH PLACES YOU NEED TO VISIT TO RETURN WITH THE UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES AND HOW TO PLAN A TRIP TO ENJOY JOURNEY TO THE MAXIMUM.
THE PERFECT JOURNEY
My ideal trip is one in which I am in no rush. I always have some kind of plan, a list of places that I want to visit. But if something goes wrong, I don’t get too upset because I believe that even if due to some circumstances I wasn’t able to go to the desired place, then you will definitely be rewarded with another great trip, acquaintance or impression. The ideal trip is when you can go to this or that city and just enjoy the moment. I think, what is better to plunge into the atmosphere of the city, to look at the life of locals there and try pretending to be local than running different attractions and get tired, so that at the end of the day there is no impressions, only fatigue.
One of those places, impressions from which remains for life – the Komodo Islands. It’s a UNESCO-protected territory to which you can fly from Bali on a small plane. Then you need to transfer to the boat and sail for three days on different islands. It’s just incredible! Unrealistic views, tiffany water, amazing snorkeling and meeting with real giant dragons – Komodo lizards. The very fact that you live on a boat, even for two days, is very cool. You see the sunset, and above you they fly from the mangroves forest flying foxes. And there is also snorkeling with giant manta ray, whose wingspan reaches 6 meters. It’s unforgettable!
MEMORIES OF MAGICAL VENICE
Unfortunately due to the travel pandemic this year it was not enough, but I would mention Venice. This is not the first time I’ve been in this city. Basically I love Italy, and Venice for me is the city in which everyone wants to return. Therefore, I will definitely return there for the next biennale and spend at least a week there, as constantly stopped for just a couple days and did not have time for many things. Going to Venice is necessary in order to stroll through the narrow streets, see a unique city on water, ride a vaporetto.
For the sake of who would wait for the evening and I walked through the perfect city. Even if it is not such a chic vacation as in the film “Turist “, still appreciating the beauty of the city is possible only in the evening, when there is not much day light. There are always a lot of tourists in Venice, therefore, to catch St. Mark’s Square in silence, to hear the ringing of bells, the best is to come there at dawn.
The magical moment when golden rays cover the surface, flocks of pigeons fly into the air everywhere, and the ringing of bells is heard in silence, I liked it the most. Language problems did not arise as a barrier. Sign language will help always, and English also saves: Italian people speak it a little. In addition, you can memorize a few basic words like “spa- thank you “,” please “, etc.
I mostly try to plan a trip but not in a year or two. I can give in rush and buy an inexpensive ticket. For instance, last year my sister offered to go to the Caucasus for the weekend. In literally three days we gathered and flew away. We spent the night in a tent on the bus. Amazing beauty! To all I advise you to travel through the mountains in the Caucasus.
Even though there is no infrastructure and off-road, these are very beautiful places, which are not yet available to all tourists. What must you take on a trip? Of course, passport and money, as well as a phone with a charger. But I always take with me at least a minimal make-up bag, some pretty bow, because we all still live in the era of instgram. I try to choose a color scheme for the place I’m going to.
MYSTERIOUS JORDAN‘S MEMORIES
I have visited a large number of countries, I often go France for work. I love Italy and Indonesia, Bali very much, I always fly on my own summer. Never drove a car far away, but auto travel, I really like it: you can rent a car and travel on your own, own route, not to depend on any tourist groups. My trick is to travel to countries outside the tourist season.
We went to Venice for the first time in January, and I found the same fogs that Brodsky wrote about. Also in January I visited in Jordan. It’s pretty cool at this time of year, but that’s it. you can lie on the beach and sunbathe. We also went to the desert Wadi Rum, similar to the Martian landscapes, where they lived in tents and camp, and it seemed like that we live on Mars. You can spend at least two full days there and still not see everything. Remnants of an ancient civilization, incredible views, meeting the sunset – all this leaves an impression for a lifetime.
Sometimes you get tired of living in a big city, and you just want to lie on the sand and listen to the sound of the waves, and sometimes you want to come to New York and go to museums, restaurants, clubs. Earlier I brought unusual magnets from different countries, including from museums, but now I mainly bring food. After all, what could be better than parmesan ?!
